Aussie Play Community FAQs
We are a family-owned and operated Australian business dedicated to the design, manufacturing, and marketing of high-quality playground and learning equipment. Our products are specifically intended for supervised and professional play environments to support children across a wide range of developmental stages.
With our headquarters located in Sydney, we oversee all design, manufacturing, and assembly in-house. Our goal is to provide solutions that foster growth, facilitate learning, and promote enjoyment through play in early childhood centres, primary schools, and community spaces.
Every piece of equipment is designed and fabricated to the highest level of quality, using sustainable materials built to last, be ergonomic and functional for a range of ages from 6 months to 16 years old. Keeping production local helps us maintain strict quality control to ensure our products meet Australian safety standards and requirements regarding age-appropriate design and safety for early learning playgrounds.
We offer a diverse range including:
- Play pods
- Play frames & modular units
- Slides and adventure cubes
- Timber walkboards & ladders
- Sand & water play tables
- Outdoor furniture and classroom tables
- Indoor furniture
What makes us different from traditional playground equipment providers is that we focus on modular, portable and open-ended reconfigurable equipment that supports gross motor development, child-led exploration and healthy risk play. Our designs allow educators to adapt learning spaces in response to children’s interests, abilities and developmental needs. We primarily serve to:
- Early childhood education and long day care centres (ELCs)
- Primary schools and high schools
- Council and community play spaces
Yes. Aussie Play equipment is designed and manufactured to comply with relevant Australian and New Zealand playground safety standards, including:
- AS 4685 – Playground Equipment and Surfacing
- NZS 5828 – Playground Equipment and Surfacing (New Zealand)
These standards regulate the design, manufacture, installation, and ongoing maintenance of our playground equipment to ensure safety use. We strongly recommend that installation and ongoing supervision be undertaken by staff or contractors with knowledge of these standards to ensure that all equipment remains compliant throughout its lifecycle.
In addition to Aussie Play documentation and the Australian Standards, services are encouraged to refer to:
- ACECQA (Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority) for guidance regarding education and care environments.
Kidsafe an independent and non-profit Australian organisation dedicated to promote safe and inclusive play environments in line with Australian Standards.
We supply products throughout Australia with delivery options that vary by region. Delivery availability depends on your location and the size of your order, and may include:
- Standard freight delivery to early learning centre, school or council sites
- Drop-ship to your nominated address
- Local pickup from our Sydney facility upon arrangement
Because playground equipment can be large and bulky, delivery is typically coordinated through freight services to ensure safe and timely arrival.
How long does delivery take?
Once your order is placed, we’ll confirm delivery timing and any fees. Lead times for delivery depend on your location, made-to-order availability, and seasonal demand.
Yes. We provide comprehensive manuals and installation guides for every piece of equipment we manufacture. Because Aussie Play equipment can be arranged in multiple configurations, the manuals will specify which setups are permitted and which require particular fall height, clearances or surfacing. Each manual includes step-by-step assembly instructions, safe configurations and technical diagrams. These documents are available to download from the Aussie Play website at all times under Resources or supplied directly with our order.
Absolutely. Our manuals are designed to support DIY installations, whether you are a playground installer, an educator or a facilities technician. Just keep in mind that our products often exceed low-level play heights, so we recommend that installation be undertaken by staff familiar with Australian Standards, trained playground operators and/or teams with experience in play equipment setup.
No worries, we’re here to support you. In addition to written manuals, we offer phone support. Just provide your equipment model, configuration plan and location details, and our team will walk you through the appropriate steps. If you need on-site assistance, we can assist in connecting you with qualified professionals. You can reach out to us via:
